  This park consists of one softball field, a playground, one basketball goal and three large parking areas. It is a great place to watch airplanes take off and land.


Annual Plant Sale

  The Faulkner County Master Gardeners hold and annual plant sale each spring at the local fairgrounds. Typically more than 1,000 plants from members' gardens are potted and ready for sale. Master gardeners also give lectures and answer questions at the event.


Arkansas River

  The Arkansas River is a tributary of the Mississippi. At 1450 miles it is the fourth longest river in the United States. The river runs right along the outside of Conway to the southwest. Locks and dams along the Arkansas River allow access to some of hte best fishing in the country. Pools formed by these are stocked by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission with sport fish such as bass, crappie, catfish, and bream, making the river a popular location for major fishing tournaments. The river can be accessed at either Toad Suck Lock & Dam/Old Fery Landing Park off Hwy 60 or Cadron Settlement Park on Hwy 319.

  Being one of the largest academic galleries in the state, the Baum Gallery is a learning laboratory for visual arts and a cultural resource located on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas. The four gallery spaces host a range of international and national traveling shows and student exhibitions.

Beaverfork Lake

  Beaverfork Lake Park is located on 1,200 acres off of Highway 25 in Northern Conway. The lake has areas for swimming, boating and fishing. It also includes areas that can be rented for barges. This park has several picnic tables with grills, one large pavilion and one small pavilion. There also is one large handicap accessible fishing dock. The park also includes two sanded volleyball courts, one concession stand, three large bathrooms, one lighted softball field and three large parking areas. There is a charge for daily or yearly boat launching ($5 daily or $50 yearly for county residents and $50 daily for out of county residents), everything else is free to the public.

  Cadron Creek is a favorite central Arkansas float stream with numerous put in points and gental floats. This creek is a reliable stream and it is said that it can be floated 90% of the time December through June. It passes by famland, some surprising rapids, bluffs and canyon-like surroundings. Because it has warmer waters than most Arkansas float streams, Cadron Creek fishing includes largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill and flathead catfish. There are access points including: the Arkansas Hwy. 124 crossing, Arkansas Hwy. 310 west of Guy, US Hwy 65 bridge and Arkansas Hwy. 285 crossing.

  The Arkansas River is the backdrop for this national historic site, which marks the spot of some of Arkansas's first settlers. This Corp of Engineers park offers a boat launching site, picnic areas, a pavilion and camping areas. It also includes a Blockhouse restoration, several historical markers and the Cherokee Trail of Tears Memorial Hike.

  This Wildlife area covers almost 30,000 acres and offers an archery range, a rifle/piston shooting range with trap and skeet facilities, a dog field trial and training area, and hunting for small game and deer. Hiking, bird watching and trail riding can also be enjoyed here.

Chocoholics Dream Night Out

  In February, the Humane Society of Faulkner County sponsors its annual Chocoholics Dream Night Out. Chocolate treats are provided by residents and businesses, and participants can savor their chocolates on-site or take them to enjoy at home later. The event Features music and artwork, and proceeds go toward Humane Society programs.

  CCAA provides outstanding live theatrical programs from straight plays, to musicals and original works. An all-volunteer organization from the board to case and crew, each production has spotlighted and nurtured local talent. Each season offers three programs running in late February/early March, May and October.

Conway Kids' Triathlon

  The annual Conway Kids' Triathlon in August offers children from 7-14 a chance to participate in a challenging event that includes swimming, biking and running. Course distances vary according to age group. All finishers recieve a medal, and awards are presented for overall achievements, individual age groups, and to the organization with the most participants. Post-race fun includes bouncy castles, snow cones and other treats, with chances to win bikes and other prizes. Proceeds benefit CASA.
